Common Akin® was created from a belief that what connects us is far greater than what separates us. Our work begins with African Trade Beads: historic glass beads crafted hundreds of years ago in Europe and carried across oceans into African markets, communities, and traditions. These beads witnessed global exchange, cultural blending, and, at times, painful chapters of human history. They are artifacts of movement, memory, and endurance.
